Resin adhesives include urea-formaldehyde and melamine-formaldehyde adhesives. These adhesives are among the oldest synthetic adhesive systems and are still very important in woodworking. They are pre-mixed urea glues which are mixed with water before use. They are mainly used in processes for joining flat materials with heated presses and are set at temperatures between 70°C and 120°C. Fast machining processes are possible. They form a solid adhesive bond with a moisture resistance that is in most cases sufficient for indoor use.
