Hardeners
Adding a hardener in the correct mixing ratio can significantly increase bond strength. In some cases, the adhesive joint must offer enhanced resistance to temperature, moisture, and/or chemicals over an extended period. Typical examples include bonding in exterior areas, as well as for bathroom and kitchen furniture. Both PVAc or polyurethane dispersions and solvent-based adhesives can be cured with hardeners. Hardeners also offer a major benefit to the user: depending on the application and required adhesive strength, the user can mix the desired amount of adhesive as needed.
